A manual wheelchair suits someone who will push it themselves or has someone to push it — and it's lighter, cheaper, and needs no charging. An electric wheelchair suits longer distances or greater independence, at a higher price point and with battery range to consider.

Manual wheelchairs range from 330 AED for a standard foldable model up to 7,000 AED for a customizable sport chair, with mid-range options (heavy-duty, reclining, adjustable leg rest) between 1,200 and 4,800 AED. Electric wheelchairs range from 2,500 AED for a foldable dual-motor model up to 11,500 AED for a carbon-fibre build, with most airplane-approved lightweight travel models around 4,850–5,500 AED.
